Our proposal for the competition ‘TO’ introduces a concept of a lighthouse to lead the people to and around Aker Brygge and to the diversity of restaurant offerings in the area. The lighthouse represents simultaneously a dualistic character both for visibility (outward as the navigation device) and for solitude (inward as the space for services); the lighthouse attracts attention, but the dining experience inside is intimate and private. The interior and service concept elaborates the original idea to its full potential; a table for two – a nearly 30 metre long furniture intertwining the experience of two people getting served for an 18-course meal, each dish representing the best of all the restaurants at Aker Brygge.
