Huldra is a famous character in Norwegian folklore. Mostly famous for luring men into the forest for sex, but the hulders could also be kind. Protecting the women from abusive husbands, and protecting their kilns in case of fire. A story of a Hulder in significance for this project is the one about ”Byttingene”. Huldra took the children from the men she lured, and replaced them with her own. This chair is a chair made for Huldra and her ”byttinger”. It can be a lounge chair, a sleeping or sitting mat, and also a hammock for her babies.
